Vehicle allegedly strikes Lawrence man intentionally

A Lawrence woman was arrested Monday after an incident involving a car hitting a pedestrian was determined to be an intentional act that put one man in the hospital, according to Lawrence police.

According to Sgt. Craig Shanks, a Lawrence Police Department spokesperson, the suspect hit a Lawrence man with a car as a result of a domestic disturbance near the intersection of 7th and New York streets around 12:20 p.m.

The driver left the scene, but police located the vehicle and the suspect in the area of 27th and Ridge Court, Shanks said. The victim was transported to a Kansas City-area hospital

“I don’t believe [the injuries] are life-threatening, however they’re still kind of investigating that at the hospital,” Shanks said.
