Crash at 19th and Haskell injures one

An 18-year-old woman was taken to a Kansas City-area hospital following a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at 19th Street and Haskell Avenue, according to Lawrence police.

At about 12:20 p.m., a Buick traveling east on 19th Street collided with a Saturn heading south on Haskell, said Sgt. Craig Shanks, a Lawrence Police Department spokesman. The force of the collision pushed the Buick into a nearby Ford. Shanks said the woman taken to a hospital was a passenger in the Saturn.

“It’s my understanding that initially they were going to life flight her and apparently her condition got upgraded, so they decided to take her by ambulance,” Shanks said.

Shanks said he was aware of no other injuries.
