KU track’s Dixon PRs again in Arkansas

? For the second week in a row, Kansas University senior Diamond Dixon set a new personal best in the 200 meters on Saturday as the KU track and field teams wrapped up their weekend at the Tyson Invitational.

Dixon finished in 23.61 to place seventh in the 79-runner field. She beat her previous best last week in New York and was coming off a season-best time in the 400 on Friday. Dixon’s finish was one of the 15 best in the NCAA this season, giving her top-15 marks in the 200 as well as the 400 meters and 600 yards.

KU senior Alex Bishop placed fourth in the men’s championship division pole vault, clearing 5.26 meters (17 feet, 3 inches). Jake Albright took fifth and Nick Maestretti seventh in the college division vault by clearing 5.01 (16-5 1/4).

KU junior Colleen O’Brien tied for fifth in the women’s championship division high jump at 1.72 (5-7 3/4), and freshman Grace Pickell tied for fourth in college division at 1.67 (5-5 3/4).

Jayhawk jumpers were also among the top finishers on the men’s side. Jonathan Fuller tied for fourth, Austin Hoag tied for sixth and Kevin Jones tied for ninth in the college division high jump.
