Eudora ? The Veritas Christian girls basketball team exploded for 31 points in the second quarter on its way to a 57-20 win on Senior Night.

Senior Hannah Gloss led the Eagles with 16 points.

Veritas coach Kevin Shelton was pleased with how his team played with a sense of togetherness, and believed that the Eagles’ stifling defense led to the offensive outburst in the second quarter.

“Obviously our defense was the difference in the game tonight,” Shelton said. “Our focus was better on defense was what I really liked.”

Veritas (11-9) will play today at Bishop Seabury.
