Gas leak blocks traffic on 23rd Street
A gas leak caused Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical officials to block off traffic from Ousdahl to Iowa streets along 23rd Street this evening.
The leak was reported just before 7 p.m., said Capt. Joe Schaumburg. Black Hills Energy shut off the gas around 8:30. Schaumburg said a line in front of Yokohama Sushi, 1730 W. 23rd St., may be the source of the gas leak.
A crew from Black Hills Energy is currently performing an assessment on the leak. Traffic will remained blocked until the source is found.
