Veritas girls, boys beat Manhattan CHIEF

Manhattan — Tori Huslig scored 18 points, and Alyssa Krestan had 14 to lead the Veritas Christian girls basketball team over Manhattan CHIEF on Monday.

The Eagles (10-9) forced 16 steals and outrebounded Manhattan by 11 in the game.

“I thought we pressured very well,” Veritas coach Kevin Shelton said. “We were the most aggressive team from tipoff to the final whistle.”

Veritas will host Flint Hills Christian on Friday in Eudora. The Eagles also will celebrate their Senior Night on Friday.

Manhattan — The Veritas Christian boys basketball team held off Manhattan CHIEF on Monday despite a 25-point performance by Anthony Schrader.

Chad Stieben scored 19 points, and Drake Napier had 13 for Veritas (11-9).

Veritas coach Blake Mudd praised the Eagles’ effort and poise in the face of foul trouble.

Veritas will host Flint Hills Christian for Senior Night on Friday in Eudora.
