Veritas boys, girls lose to Wichita

Eudora — The Veritas Christian boys basketball team lost to the Wichita Warriors, 61-39, on Saturday despite a game-high 22 points from sophomore Chad Stieben.

The Eagles shot just 32 percent from the field in the loss.

“I thought our kids played hard and gave great effort,” Veritas coach Blake Mudd said. “We just couldn’t get a bucket tonight.”

Veritas (10-9) will play Monday at Manhattan CHIEF.

Eudora — Tori Huslig had 23 points, six rebounds and five steals, but Veritas Christian’s girls basketball team fell to the Wichita Warriors.

Alyssa Krestan added eight points, and Hannah Gloss scored six.

“I was really proud of how we played,” Veritas coach Kevin Shelton said. “… They’re a good team, and we know what we’ve got to do to become more like them.”

Veritas (9-9) will play Monday at Manhattan CHIEF.
