Lawrence Public Library is asking kids to participate in the Love Your Library Tile Project on Valentine’s Day weekend to leave their mark on the new library building.

The Library Foundation is sponsoring the fundraiser that will allow kids of all ages to decorate a ceramic tile that will be installed on the walls of the family restrooms in the new building.

Kids can come decorate their tiles from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 13, 14 and 15, and from noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 16 at the current library location at 700 New Hampshire St.

Tiles cost $30 per tile or $50 for two tiles. There will be 500 tiles available for kids to decorate. Proceeds from the event will help support literacy programs at the library.
