Seabury boys 72, Heritage Christian 27

The Bishop Seabury boys basketball team clicked on all cylinders in Friday’s win over Topeka-Heritage Christian.

The Seahawks had a balanced offensive attack led by 17 points from freshman Mikey Wycoff. Avery Rouser and Marcus Allen also had 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Seabury head coach Ashley Battles was pleased with how his team performed offensively, but he was even more impressed with how the Seahawks defended.

“We’ve got to the point to where our defense is solid,” Battles said.

Seabury (8-2) will play again Tuesday at Immaculta.

Heritage Christian 25, Seabury girls 23

The Seabury girls clamped down on defense, but could not muster enough offense.

The Seahawks outscored the Eagles in every quarter except the second, in which they were shut out, 7-0.

“Topeka Heritage Christian was in a zone the entire game and had a lot of size against us,” Seabury coach Kevin Smith said.

The Seahawks (3-5) will try to bounce back Tuesday against KC Christian.
