Highway Patrol seeking witnesses to Dec. 23 fatal K-10 collision

The Kansas Highway Patrol is seeking information on a fatal crash in south Lawrence last week as it continues to investigate the collision.

Around 4 p.m. Dec. 23, 63-year-old Kansas University professor Alexander G. Tsiovkh was driving westbound on Kansas Highway 10 between East 1200 Road and U.S. Highway 59 when his gold 2005 Mazda Tribute collided with a white 2005 Volvo semi-trailer truck, KHP Trooper Jacob Moomau said.

Tsiovkh was killed in the collision and the semi-trailer driver, 34-year-old Mohamed Igal, of Kansas City, Mo., was injured.
