• The Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community was recently recognized by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living for achieving all four of the AHCA and NCAL’s Quality Initiative goals. Pioneer Ridge was one of 155 organizations recognized across the country and the only one in Kansas.

• Barber Emerson, L.C. announced the addition of two new employees. G. Clay Randle has joined as an associate in the areas of tax, estate planning, business planning and family law. Lauren L. Oberzan has also joined as an associate in the areas of real estate, land use and business law.

• Wade Wilbur, the co-owner of Sod Shop in Lawrence, was elected to the board of directors for the Kansas Turfgrass Foundation at its 64th annual Turfgrass Conference in early December. The Kansas Turfgrass Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes the use of better turfgrasses and landscapes.

• Marissa Clark has joined Lawrence Therapy Services and Baldwin Therapy Services. Clark is a neurological physical therapist, working primarily with Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis.
