Manhattan ? Free State High’s boys swimming and diving team won the Manhattan triangular on Wednesday at the Kansas State Natatorium.

The Firebirds picked up 212 points in the tri, edging Lawrence High (158 points) and Manhattan (156 points). They were lifted by victories in all three relays, along with senior Jack Ziegler’s victories in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, sophomore Chad Bourdon’s win in the one-meter dive, and junior Ethan Kallenberger’s first-place finish in the 100 backstroke.

The Lions were led by Alex Heckman, who won the 200 freestyle, Stephen Johnson, who earned victories in the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle, and Izaiah Bowie’s runner-up finish in the one-meter dive. Isaac Springe also added top-three placings in the 200 free and 100 breast.
