Veritas boys stumble
Kansas City, Mo. ? Veritas Christian School’s boys basketball team owned a nine-point advantage after three quarters, but could not hold on, losing 64-59 to Eagle Heights Christian on Tuesday.
Chad Stieben scored a team-high 18 points for Veritas, but VCA was unable to slow down Eagle Heights’ Andrew Thomas. Thomas racked up 41 points on 14-of-28 shooting, including 6-of-14 shooting from behind the arc.
“He’s a great player,” Veritas head coach Carl Huslig said of Thomas. “We learned a lot about our team tonight.”
The Eagles (4-1) will play Cair Paravel at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Topeka.
