Eudora girls win in tourney

Eudora — A 22-point second quarter helped fuel Eudora High to a girls basketball victory over Harrisonville in its home tournament on Tuesday.

Makaila Garcia paced the Cardinals with 14 points.

Eudora (1-2) will move on to play Wellsville in the second round of the EHS tournament at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Ottawa — Ottawa’s comeback attempt in the fourth quarter was not enough as the Cyclones lost to Piper.

The Cyclones outscored Piper, 23-13, in the fourth, but had to rebound from a double-digit deficit in the first quarter.

Isaac McCullough led all scorers with 22 points.

Ottawa, 1-1, will hit the road to take on Tonganoxie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Paola — Eudora suffered its suffered loss of the season after falling to Olathe Northwest in the Paola Tournament.

The Cardinals will attempt to get back in the win column as they play in the third-place game of the Paola Tournament at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
