Three finalists for Kansas University vice chancellor for research to visit campus

The three finalists chosen by the search committee for the vice chancellor for research position at Kansas University will visit campus this month for public presentations and to answer questions from the KU community.

Richard Hichwa, senior associate vice president for research and economic development at the University of Iowa, will give his public presentation from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Lied Center Pavilion. He will be on campus Wednesday through Friday.

The two remaining candidates’ names will be announced two days before they arrive. Their public forums will be from 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 16 and 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 18 at the Lied Center Pavilion.

All candidates will speak on the topic of “Strategies for Raising Research Stature during an Era of Declining Funding.” The presentations will be recorded and posted online after the last presentation is complete.
