The Big Brothers Big Sisters Gingerbread Festival and Live Auction event is at 7 p.m. at Abe & Jake’s Landing, 8 E. Sixth St. Come out and see all the gingerbread creations, and place your bid to benefit advocacy for kids!

Nighttime rain

Today’s high will be 44 degrees under cloudy skies; rain in the evening will evolve into more steady rain overnight. The low tonight will be 38 degrees.

Wheat harvest on film

Telling the story of families who travel from Texas to Canada custom harvesting wheat for our country and the world, award-winning filmmaker Conrad Weaver documents the inspiring heritage now threatened to be lost. The film screening and Q&A for “The Great American Wheat Harvest” is at 3 p.m. at the Dole Institute, 2350 Petefish Drive. DVDs of the documentary will also be available.
