Two people arrested early Sunday morning are suspected of participating in a fight last week that left one person significantly injured, according to police.
The fight occurred April 19 at the Pool Room, 925 Iowa St. Two women started arguing, and one woman punched the other in the face, said Lawrence Police Sgt. Trent McKinley. The women then began fighting on the ground, and the victim was repeatedly struck by both the other woman and a man, "causing significant injuries," McKinley said.
A bar employee received minor injuries while attempting to break up the fight, McKinley said.
The man and woman suspected fled the area before police arrived; however, they returned to the Pool Room on April 26, McKinley said. Someone in the bar recognized the suspects and called police, McKinley said.
According to police, the suspects were interviewed about the fight and later booked into Douglas County Jail.
Antwan Levalis Oliver, 28, of Lawrence, and Sara Louise Little, 30, also of Lawrence, are being held on charges of aggravated battery.
