Kansas women’s golf takes fifth place

? Kansas University’s Yupaporn Kawinpakorn and Thanuttra Boonraksasat tied for sixth to lead the 39th-ranked Jayhawks to a fifth-place team finish at the Lady Buckeye Golf Invitational on Sunday at the Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.

Kawinpakorn and Boonraksasat shot three-round totals of 227 to tie for sixth.

Other KU scores: Minami Levonowich and Meghan Potee, tied for 31st, 236; Pornvipa Sakdee, tied for 38th, 237; and Michelle Woods, competing as an individual, tied for 68th, 251.

Ohio State won the team title with 892 strokes and was followed by Michigan State and Kent State (900), Purdue (909) and Kansas (916).

Kent State’s Jennifer Ha won the individual crown with a 218.

Kansas will play April 25-27 at the Big 12 Championships in Austin, Texas
