Trail race: The Lawrence Trail Hawks will host the fifth-annual Shoreline Shuffle 5K Trail Run on May 4 on Clinton Lake’s North Shore Trails. The Shoreline Shuffle begins and ends at the Southwest corner of Campground One, in Clinton Lake State Park. The marked course includes difficult rocky, root-bound trails; smooth, flat, easy trails, scenic lake views; and long shady stretches through old-growth forest. Sunflower wrestling: Sunflower Kids Wrestling Club grapplers Grayson Hagen and Eric Streeter both qualified for the All-American rounds at Brute Nationals Friday. On Sunday, in Independence, Mo., Hagen will wrestle for a national title in the first-grade 61-pound bracket, and Streeter will wrestle for seventh place in the third-grade 70-pound bracket.
