Former KU football player Chris Banks dies

? Former Kansas University football player Chris Banks died Wednesday at the age of 41, the Baltimore Sun has reported.

Banks was found dead in his home in Maryland, Sheriff’s Office official Edward Hopkins said. The death was reported as unattended and was not suspicious. Formerly with the Denver Broncos, Banks was a member of the 1998 team that won Super Bowl XXXIII.

“The Denver Broncos are deeply saddened with the news that former offensive lineman Chris Banks has passed away,” the Broncos said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to his family and friends.”

Banks was drafted as a seventh-round pick in the 1996 NFL Draft out of KU. Banks had served as a TSA agent at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport since 2008.

“Many here at the Transportation Security Administration at BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport had the good fortune of working alongside Mr. Banks during the past five years and we will miss him tremendously as both a colleague and friend,” TSA said in a statement. “Our hearts are with his family in this time of deep sorrow.”
