On April 17, the Hall Center for the Humanities will host a symposium, titled “Inequality in the Post-Civil Rights Era,” commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision.

A panel discussion of scholars titled “Historicizing Inequality” will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Hall Center Conference Hall. That will be followed by a second panel discussion, “Engaging Inequality,” at 1:15 p.m.

Lee Bollinger, who as the University of Michigan’s president defended that university’s affirmative action policies in the Supreme Court, will give a keynote lecture at 3:30 p.m. in the Stinson Leonard Street LLP Lecture Hall in Kansas University’s Green Hall. Bollinger is currently president of Columbia University.
