Lawrence High School student wins all-expenses paid trip to Germany

A Lawrence High School student has been awarded an all-expenses paid study trip to Germany this summer.

The American Association of Teachers of German, Inc. selected Genevieve Voigt as a national winner after she scored in the 96th percentile of the Level II 2014 National German Exam for High School Students.

Nearly 21,000 students participated in the program and Voigt is one of 44 students to receive the award. The trip involves staying with a host family in Germany and visiting areas of cultural and historical significance.

Voigt is a student of German teacher Natalie Aaron at LHS.
