Steven Michael Gigger

One of two men arrested after a 2013 shooting outside a Lawrence nightclub was sentenced to 67 months in federal prison Tuesday.

Steven Michael Gigger, 30 of Topeka, was sentenced to 67 months in federal prison in connection with a May 2013 shooting outside Club Magic. Gigger pleaded guilty in federal court in October to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

In November, Erick S. Smith, 21 of Topeka, was sentenced in Douglas County District Court in November to three years in prison. Smith shot two Topeka men, Tommy D. Andrews and Michael A. Holford, during a dispute outside Club Magic, 804 W. 24th St.

Andrews testified last year that he and his brother, Michael, were “caught in the middle of a lovers’ quarrel” between their sister and Gigger and that he and his brother were shot by a person riding in a car with Gigger.

At the time of the shooting, Gigger had previous convictions in Shawnee County for aggravated robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and criminal threats between 2002 and 2012.
