Oct. 12 KU football game at TCU set for 11 a.m. kickoff

Game will be televised by FSN

The Kansas University football team better double check the batteries in the team's alarm clocks.

The Big 12 Conference announced this morning that KU's Oct. 12 game at TCU will kickoff at 11 a.m., marking the third straight week that the Jayhawks will start in the morning.

KU's last game, a 13-10 home victory over Louisiana Tech, kicked off at 11 a.m. and the 2-1 Jayhawks play host to No. 20 Texas Tech (4-0) at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

KU is no stranger to the 11 a.m. start times. The Jayhawks have played several late morning games during the past few seasons and head coach Charlie Weis said Monday that the biggest key with the early game is to make sure the players' bodies are ready and adjusting throughout the week.

The early start can be tough on opponents but Weis said he did not see it as being an advantage for either team.

The Oct. 12 game at TCU will be televised on FSN.

No new injuries

The Jayhawks seem to have emerged unharmed from a physical bye week that featured a Thursday scrimmage in which even KU's quarterbacks were live and free to be hit. Only running back Taylor Cox (hamstring) and wide receiver Tre' Parmalee (appendectomy) are listed on the team's injury report heading into preparation for Texas Tech.

There was no word yet on whether either player had a chance to play this weekend against the Red Raiders, but the Jayhawks appear to be in good shape, health-wise, everywhere else.
