Wetmore Reilly Malone had 17 kills and 19 digs, and Celia Taylor-Puckett had 31 assists as Bishop Seabury Academy volleyball went 2-1 at a quadrangular Saturday at Wetmore.
After a 25-17, 25-21 loss to Atchison Maur Hill, the Seahawks rebounded for a 25-18, 25-18 victory over Jackson Heights and a 25-19, 25-19 victory over Wetmore.
For Seabury (7-10), Ellen Almanza had eight aces, 12 kills and 13 digs; Malone had four aces and three blocks; Taylor Hodge contributed 12 aces, 5 kills, four blocks and 18 digs; and Taylor-Puckett had five aces, four blocks and 10 digs.
“Although we started a little slow out of the gate on Saturday, we were playing some pretty good volleyball by the end of the day,” Seabury coach Chrissy Leuty said, noting the Seahawks took to the court with a revamped lineup. “I can’t wait to see what these girls can do as they get more comfortable in their new roles.”
Seabury will travel Tuesday to University Academy.
