Ballock completed six of 17 passes for 84 yards.

Perry ­– The Kaws did all their scoring in the first half.

Brandon Eddy gained 158 yards on 24 carries and scored on runs of five and eight yards. The Kaws also scored on a five-yard run by Seth Surface and a 10-yard run by R.J. Whitaker.

Weston Gloss threw scoring passes of 13, 10 and 80 yards to Tyler Mundy for Santa Fe Trail.

The Kaws (2-1) will play at Nemaha Valley on the road on Friday.

Tonganoxie — Tonganoxie High intercepted two passes and came up with five fourth-down stops in a shutout of Kansas City (Kan.) Piper.

The Chieftains (3-0, 2-0 Kaw Valley League) limited the Pirates (1-2, 1-1) to 161 yards of offense, including just 47 in the first half.

THS, 3-0 for the first time since the 2006 season, took an early 14-0 lead when quarterback Tyler Ford threw a pair of touchdown passes on the team’s first two drives. Ford hooked up with Wyatt Weeks for a 49-yard score, then, following an interception by Eric Tate, found Ben Johnson from 15 yards out.

Shane Levy made it 21-0 midway through the second quarter when he scored his first of two touchdowns on a six-yard run.

The Chieftains travel next week to Class 5A Mill Valley.

Baldwin City — The Bulldogs scored on eight of their first nine possessions in a victory against St. James Academy.

St. James (1-2) helped fuel the romp by twice fumbling the ball away twice in the game’s first 12 minutes.

Baldwin (3-0) took advantage of the short fields to grab a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Baldwin senior halfback Cornell Brown threw a 44-yard touchdown pass and rushed for scores from three, 60 and 69 yards out.
