The Cordley Elementary PTA Carnival will be held Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the school, 1837 Vermont St.

For the second straight year, the PTA is combining the carnival with a wellness expo focused on nutrition and fitness activities for kids and adults.

PTA president Sally Zogry said the wellness expo will feature free healthy food tastings, samples, giveaways and a drawing for prizes from local merchants.

Admission is $10 per family and the event is open to the public. The PTA says all money raised will help fund current budget gaps for teachers and classrooms.
