LHS soccer falls at Olathe NW, 4-2

? Lawrence High’s boys soccer team staged a rally against Olathe Northwest but fell, 4-2, on Tuesday night.

The Lions trailed 3-0 about 10 minutes into the second half when Piper Hubbell scored to cut the deficit to 3-1. A goal by Amos Rel cut the margin to 3-2, but the Lions would come no closer.

“The first half, we were a little timid,” Lawrence coach Mike Murphy said. “We’ve been preaching to them about playing hard for 80 minutes. They almost got it done, but not quite.

“Ellis Springe played really well defensively,” Murphy added. “Connor Henrichs continues to dominate in the middle of the field.”

The Lions (1-3) will play Thursday at Shawnee Mission North.
