Emporia ? Lawrence High’s girls cross country team placed seventh and its boys took eighth Saturday in the Emporia Invitational.

Leah Gabler finished 19th to lead the LHS girls, and Keegan Matheis was 36th to lead the LHS boys.

For the Lions’ girls, Laura Nielsen was 20th, Riley Shook 42nd, Mallory McFall 53rd, Shaye White 54th, Caitlin Lewis 60th and Kennedy Dold 65th.

For the LHS boys, Andy Freeman was 37th, Sam Stephens 42nd, Nathan Pederson 43rd, Tim Schraad 46th, Eddie Wilson 47th and Taylor Smith 52nd.
