Alexis Czapinski defended her singles championship, and Free State High took third place Saturday in the Salina Central girls tennis tournament.

Czapinski dropped only one game in four matches.

Megan McReynolds improved from a 21st-place finish last year to go 4-1 and finish ninth.

The Firebirds’ No. 1 doubles team of Taylor Hawkins and Caitlin Dodd went 4-1 and finished ninth.
