Kansas City, Kan. — JT Howell broke off a 54-yard run for the go-ahead touchdown and Eudora beat Kansas City Piper.

Eudora quarterback Andrew Ballock completed 10 of 18 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown — a 26-yard throw to Mitchell Ballock in the first quarter.

The Cardinals (1-0) host Louisburg on Friday in Eudora.

Hiawatha — Brenden Steele scored on a 10-yard run in overtime and Conner Bigham added the decisive extra point to lead Hiawatha in overtime.

The Kaws opened the scoring in the first quarter on a 2-yard run by R.J. Whitaker. That was their only score until overtime, when Tyler Ball scored on an 11-yard pass from Seth Surface.

The Kaws (0-1) will play Friday at Sabetha.
