Seabury volleyball splits at opener

? Bishop Seabury Academy opened its volleyball season with a split of two matches Thursday at the Onaga triangular.

The Seahawks fell to Onaga, 25-9, 25-11, but beat Jackson Heights, 25-23, 25-10.

“It was our first match of the year, and we played tight the whole match,” Seabury coach Chrissy Leuty said of the Onaga loss. “We are a young team, and we never really settled in. (Against Jackson Heights) I could tell the girls were a bit more comfortable on the court. … The girls showed a hint of what is to come, and it coule be pretty exciting.”
