Interstate 35 between Wellsville and Gardner has been closed after reports of shots fired near Edgerton Road in southern Johnson County.

A perimeter was set up just after 8 p.m. Friday as law enforcement officials with the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department investigated.

One person was taken by Franklin County EMS to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
