FSHS volleyball 1-1 at Seaman

September 6, 2013

— Free State opened its volleyball season Thursday by splitting a pair of matches at Topeka Seaman. The Firebirds defeated Lansing, 25-23, 25-20, and fell to Seaman, 25-14, 25-10.

"It’s early in the season,” FSHS coach Nancy Hopkins said, “and we still have a lot of work to do, and we know it.”

Hopkins cited Morgan Knapp and Paige Corcoran for their consistent play.

FSHS (1-1) will play Thursday at a Shawnee Mission Northwest quadrangular.
