RunWalk Lawrence: A new training program called RunWalkLawrence is starting in Lawrence. It is a Jeff Galloway program. Galloway represented the U.S. at the 1972 Munich Olympics and has since helped over a quarter of a million people experience the joys and benefits of running. Kickball qualifier: The Lawrence-based KVLFK kickball team has qualified for the kickball national championship, the Circuit Cup Championship on Nov. 9 in New Orleans. The team qualified at the Kansas City Kickball Open in June and is made of some of the top players in the Kaw Valley Kickball League. LPRD girls basketball: Lawrence Parks & Recreation and the Lawrence USD 497 are combining the sixth- and seventh-grade girls intramural basketball program and are taking additional registration thru Nov. 8. Turkey Trot: Lawrence Parks & Recreation is taking registration for the Turkey Trot 5K Run for Saturday, Nov. 2, at Haskell Indian Nations University.
