The Haskell Indian Nations University men’s basketball team lost its season opener to McPherson, 75-74, on Tuesday night.

TsaLiDi Sequoyah led Haskell with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

“It was a hard-fought game,” HINU coach Chad Kills Crow said. “It came down to the final minute. McPherson scored and left us with 2.8 on the clock, and we were unable to score.”

HINU (0-1) plays the University of Tulsa, at 8 tonight in Tulsa, Okla.
