KPR reports falling just short of fundraising goal

After nine days of on-air fundraising, Kansas Public Radio came up just shy of the goal set for its fall membership drive.

KPR reeled in $242,262 in pledges, about $8,000 short of the $250,000 goal. The drive began Oct. 8 and attracted pledges from 2,103 listener-members, according to a statement on Kansas University’s website.

The pledge total does not include challenge grants in which a company or individual donate if KPR raises a certain level of funding during a set timeframe. KPR said it received $36,000 through challenge grants.

All donations from the drive support programming, KPR said.
