Roeland Park Free State High gave Bishop Miege all it could handle in the first set before falling, 25-20, 25-17, 25-14, in a dual volleyball match Thursday night.
“We started out looking like we were going to dominate,” Firebirds coach Nancy Hopkins said. “It was 20-20, and then we just couldn’t finish. I think part of that’s being young. That’s kind of what’s happened to us all year.”
FSHS (9-17) will play Saturday in the 10-team Emporia tournament.
