Celebrating ceramics at the Fire Spectacular

The department of visual arts at Kansas University is hosting the Fire Spectacular, in conjunction with the Lawrence Arts Center, to celebrate the role of fire in art and promote creative research in ceramics and sculpting at the university.

The Fire Spectacular features a wooden-spoon-making workshop, a potluck and barbecue dinner for all attendees, and the iron pour main event at dusk. The program begins at 1 p.m. Saturday at the KU Kiln Complex at Chamney Barn, 2445 W. Bob Billings Parkway.

This event is free and open to the public.
