Olathe ? Free State High junior gymnast Grace Bartle placed first in floor exercise and third in all-around competition to lead FSHS to a runner-up finish at the Sunflower League meet Saturday at Olathe North.

With a team score of 104.175, the Firebirds finished just shy of league champion Shawnee Mission West (104.255). Lawrence High placed eighth with 92.925.

Free State junior Carrie Howland (6th all-around; 3rd beam; 3rd floor) also placed in the top 10. Senior Allison Williams led Lawrence High with a 23rd -place finish in the all-around.
