Topeka ? Approximately $3.3 million worth of renovations are scheduled for Kansas University’s Spencer Museum of Art.

The renovations will include a new central staircase, elevator, skylights and new study centers.

KU has asked the Kansas Board of Regents to authorize the KU Endowment Association to contract for the improvements, which will affect 7,200 square feet. The regents will consider the proposal on Wednesday.

The project will be paid for with private funds, officials said.
