Two dozen high school bands from across Kansas and Missouri will descend on Lawrence this weekend for the 22nd annual Heart of America Marching Band Festival.

The competition begins at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Stadium. High school bands will perform throughout the afternoon and evening, with Kansas University’s Marching Jayhawks giving the final performance at 7:45 p.m. and awards given out at 8 p.m.

Free State High School is scheduled to play at 4:15 p.m. Lawrence High School plays at 7 p.m.

Admission is $10 for adults or $5 for children, seniors and students. Children younger than 5 are free.
