Live baroque music coming to art museum

The Spencer Consort, a chamber music group that plays Baroque music on instruments like those used during the 17th and 18th centuries, will present a free concert Sunday at the Spencer Museum of Art, 1301 Mississippi St.

The concert, “A Baroque Pastiche,” begins at 2:30 p.m. in the museum’s Central Court. The program will feature works from Italy, France, Germany and Austria, highlighted by “Sonata in E for Two Flutes” and “Basso Continuo” by C.P.E. Bach. Another piece, “The Bells of St. Genevieve on the Mount,” is based upon the pitches of three of the bells at this Parisian abbey.

Consort members are baroque flutists Joy Laird and John Boulton, harpsichordist Elizabeth Egbert Berghout and baroque cellist Paul Laird.
