LHS soccer tops Leavenworth, 6-0

? Lawrence High’s soccer team scored five second-half goals in a 6-0 victory over Leavenworth on Tuesday.

Hunter Kelley and Jakob Burdett had two goals apiece, while Connor Henrichs and Cale Bertrand had one each. Amos Rel had two assists, while Burdett, Henrichs, Matt Mantooth and Narito Mendez each had one assist. Goalkeeper Andrew Ornburn had a save.

“I was pleased. We have been a strong second-half team all season,” coach Mike Murphy said. “We did a nice job keeping possession and working the ball. We talked about working outside/in and did a nice job of that. We didn’t press things; played within ourselves getting in position to score.”

LHS (4-4-1) will play Free State at 7 p.m. Thursday at LHS.
