RunWalk Lawrence: A new training program called RunWalkLawrence is starting in Lawrence. It is a Jeff Galloway program. Galloway represented the U.S. at the 1972 Munich Olympics and has since helped over a quarter of a million people experience the joys and benefits of running. Softball clinics: The Kansas University softball coaching staff will host two winter clinics on Sunday, Dec. 15 inside Anschutz Pavilion. The clinics are open to anyone in grades 8 through 12 and will be priced at $75 for each. The first session will focus on the mechanics of hitting and the fundamentals of defense and will take place from 9-11:30 a.m. The second session, lasting from 12:30-3 p.m., will be dedicated to working specifically with pitchers and catchers. Those attending the clinic will work closely with KU coaching staff members as well as current and former players. A multiple session discount of $25 will be applied if you sign up for both sessions. Basketball program: Lawrence Parks & Recreation and Lawrence USD 497 are now taking registration for the 2014 Boys Middle School Intramural Basketball Program for the 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades.
