— After three misses earlier in the game, freshman Clarence Clark kicked a 28-yard field goal as time expired to lift Baker University over Sterling, 10-7, in the first round of the NAIA Football Championship Series on Saturday at Liston Stadium.

Clark also scored on an 89-yard reception just before halftime. He finished with 118 receiving yards as Baker (11-1) won its first playoff game in 20 years.

Eudora High grad Nick Becker led the Wildcats’ defense with 10 tackles, including a sack, as Baker held Sterling to just 49 yards in the second half.
