A 30-year-old Lawrence woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of theft by deception and forgery after allegedly claiming as her own $1,100 worth of medications from a pharmacy that were intended for a relative.
Nannie Sue Noble was arrested at 9:36 p.m. Thursday and was in Douglas County Jail on a $3,500 bond on Friday afternoon. She also has an active warrant from Leavenworth County.
Police say that on Thursday, the person for whom the prescriptions were intended called Sigler Pharmacy to ask why they had not been delivered, leading pharmacists to suspect a crime, said Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence Police Department spokesman.
Police contacted Noble, recovered "some of the medication" and arrested Noble, McKinley said.
