Aquahawks openings: The Lawrence Aquahawks swimming team is always accepting new members. The Aquahawks are a year-round USA Swimming-sponsored competitive swim team. The Aquahawks offer a swim lesson program and competitive swim team for all ages. The Aquahawks are coached by professional coaches with weekly practices geared toward a variety of skill levels. LHS tennis camps: Lawrence High tennis camps will be open to all LHS tennis players attending LHS for the 2013-14 school year. The camps will be 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 4-July 18. There also will be a future LHS tennis camp for boys and girls in grades 6-8. The future camp will meet from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on the same dates. Players will work on tennis skills, strategies and group play. Cost for the 13 sessions is $65, or $5 a day. Golf tournament: The Dave “Doc” Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament will be June 1 at Alvamar. It is a four-person scramble. Sign-in starts at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start is at 8. Coast is $300 per team. Puma FC camp and tryouts: Puma Futbol Club –a nonprofit affiliated with the Sporting Club Network of the Kansas City soccer club Sporting KC — will hold a pre-tryout camp June 3-5 at the Youth Sports Inc. field No. 14. LHS alumni golf: The 14th Annual Lawrence Lions Alumni Association Scholarship Golf Tournament is 8 a.m., June 15 at Alvamar Golf Course.
