Baker names new dean for professional, graduate studies

Baker University has named an administrator at Ottawa University to lead its School of Professional and Graduate Studies.

Brian Messer, vice president for online studies at Ottawa, will be Baker’s new vice president and dean of its professional and graduate school. Before coming to Ottawa in 2009, he worked for the University of Phoenix for eight years.

Messer earned a Ph.D. in higher education administration from St. Louis University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico.

He will lead Baker’s Master of Business Administration program and oversee Baker’s professional and graduate campuses in Overland Park, Topeka, Wichita, Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Kansas City, Mo.
