Art, crafts, music en plein air this weekend during Art in the Park

Art, crafts and live music will fill South Park this weekend during the 52nd annual Art in the Park event.

The Lawrence Art Guild organizes the juried outdoor exhibition featuring more than 120 artists from across the United States. Artwork for sale will include painting, jewelry, ceramics, glass, textiles and wood products.

The event is planned for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at South Park, 11th and Massachusetts streets. Admission is free, and food will be available for purchase.

Children’s activities will be provided by the Lawrence Arts Center from 10 a.m. to noon and by the South Mass Art Guild from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Planned live music performers are as follows: 10 a.m., Nicolette Paige (reggae); 11 a.m., Chris Shaw Quartet (jazz); noon, Lawrence City Band; 1 p.m., Billy Ebeling and The Late for Dinner Band (blues, zydeco and beyond); 2 p.m., Katie Euliss (Americana); 3 p.m., John Lomas and Bill Crahan (instrumental guitar); and 4 p.m., Prairie Acre (bluegrass).

A related indoor gallery show titled “Art by the Park” is on display until May 26 across the street inside the Lawrence Art Guild’s 1109 Gallery, 1109 Massachusetts St.
